Mizingani Rd near the ferry exit has a mix of comfortable twins and doubles, a rooftop res-
taurant with harbour views, a small cafe and an elevator.
Bandari Lodge HOTEL $

straightforward, high-ceilinged, no-frills rooms with fan. Turn left as you exit the port; it's
two minutes' walk ahead on the right-hand side.
Malindi Lodge HOTEL $

The long-standing Malindi Lodge has clean, albeit basic rooms near Ciné Afrique and the
port, and diagonally opposite Mr Mitu's spice tours office. There are no fans.
Funguni Palace Hotel HOTEL $

) Opposite Malindi Guest House, with clean rooms with fan and TV, and a rooftop
breakfast area. It's good value, and conveniently located near the port, although we've
heard from several readers who had money stolen from their rooms.
Sealand Hotel HOTEL $

ite Al-Shabany restaurant, and just off the street with Mr Mitu's office, this two-storey
place completely lacks atmosphere, but the rooms are acceptable and clean. The ones up-
stairs are larger, and all have fan, air-con and one twin pus one double bed.

Jambo Guest House GUESTHOUSE $

Just around the corner from Flamingo Guest House, and also popular with backpackers,
Jambo has free tea and coffee, clean rooms and decent breakfasts. Green Garden Restaur-
ant, with cheap local meals, is just opposite.
