(Samora Ave & Azikiwe St), a bronze statue dedicated to
Africans killed in WWI. Head northeast along Samora Ave to Shaaban Robert St and the
National Museum
. Continue eastwards along Samora Ave half a block. On the right
is
Karimjee Hall
where Julius Nyerere was sworn in as president. This was the
former house of parliament before the legislature was relocated to Dodoma. Now it is
used for parliamentary committee meetings and political functions. Continue eastwards
along Samora Ave to Luthuli St. To the northeast is
