6.2 PSNR Test
Figure 22 and 23 shows the PSNR comparison of Dirac and H.264 for “Container”
QCIF and “Riverbed” HD sequences. For the QCIF sequence, H.264 maintains a
higher PSNR at lower QF, however, there is marginal difference in PSNR between
the codecs at QF 10. As for the HD sequence, the lack of CBR mode in the Dirac
is evident after approximately QF 15 as the Dirac curve increases sharply while
the H.264 curve starts to tail off.
