also makes an ideal pit stop for travellers. The seven rooms include a couple set up for

C'est Si Bon Hotel $$
( 301240; www.cestsibonhotel.com ; Swembad Rd; s/d from N$570/670; )
Named after a common French expression that translates to 'it is so good', this charmer of
a hotel takes its moniker to heart, blending Namibian design with European flourishes.
After a few laps in the pool, a cappuccino on the sundeck and a glass of wine in the bar,
you'll probably agree that indeed, c'est si bon.

Out of Africa Town Lodge $$
( 302230; Long St; s/d from N$570/670; ) This attractive whitewashed, colonial-
style lodge is a nice place to break up the drive to Etosha if you accidentally get a late
start. Lofty rooms retain their historical accents, though frequent renovations have kept
them in sync with the times.

Getting There & Away
The Intercape Mainliner ( Click here ) service that departs Windhoek for Victoria Falls
passes through Otjiwarongo (from N$300, 3½ hours, twice weekly), and minibuses travel-
ling between Windhoek and the north stop at the Engen petrol station. All train services
between Tsumeb and Windhoek or Walvis Bay (via Swakopmund) also pass through.
OUTJO
067
Given the tourist traffic through this small town it has retained a surprisingly country,
low-key feel. Although it's primarily a stopover with few attractions, the eating and ac-
commodation options available make it a good place to chill out for a day or two on the
way to or from Etosha National Park. Outjo is the last major rest stop before reaching
Okaukuejo, the administrative headquarters of and western gateway to Etosha.
