EASTERN BOTSWANA
For the Batswana, this relatively densely populated land may be the most important part of
Botswana; for travellers, this is largely an ignored area, a place to be bypassed on the way
to Maun, Kasane and the Kalahari.
But the Batswana heartland is worth exploring, home as it is to Botswana's most import-
ant rhino sanctuary, to the ruins and dramatic landscapes of the Tswapong Hills, and to the
Tuli Block, one of Botswana's most underrated wildlife destinations.
