Completed development in 2013
14.5 Project case study
Managing the Buxton Road project
The development includes the construction of nine houses, three detached units
and six semi-detached houses.
The project commenced in September 2013 at the start of a so called housing boom.
The housing units were intended to be made of brick and block construction, however,
due to a shortage of concrete blocks (for internal wall construction), a decision has
been taken to use timber frame construction for the inner walls, floor and roof. It
hasĀ  been decided to construct the wall and floor panels on site. Engineers drawings
have been prepared to aid this task (refer to the fabrication area on the site layout plan).
A plan of the scheme is shown together with proposals for the site layout planning.
