13.8 Sequence study - replacement of floor construction
Description of work: method considerations in utilisation of the
formwork
Formwork support
On completion of the removal of the insitu concrete floors by the demolition
contractor, work can commence on constructing the new troughed floors between
the existing floor beams.
A decision has been made to cast each of the three floors and roof slab in two
100 cm pours per floor.
This decision involves tying up expensive formwork support and soffits at any one
time. The image above shows the formwork support in position for two floors of
the building during the replacement of the floors.
The ground floor slab formwork will be moved to the second floor position and on
pouring the second floor and the first floor, formwork will be repositioned to the
fourth floor/ roof level.
