Site offices and operatives facilities
Two-storey office and mess
Project manager's office
Office and mess facilities are provided in a two-storey block consisting of ten mobile units
9 m × 2 m. The ground floor contains operatives' facilities such as canteen, drying rooms,
toilets and store. The upper floor accommodates the site management personnel, includ-
ing separate offices for the project manager, site manager, quantity surveyors, engineers
and visiting personnel. A separate meeting room and samples area is also provided.
All site labour is directly engaged by the work package subcontractors. The main
contractor specifies who is responsible for general movement of materials and
maintaining a tidy site. Contra-charging of subcontractors applies when the subcon-
tractor fails to leave a tidy workplace.
