6.7 Plant utilisation for major stages of work
Liverpool Man Island project
This is a 15-storey steel frame with two
sliding staircase cores.
In-situ concrete sliding formwork was
used for the staircase cores, with the
horizontal jib tower crane used for con-
creting the top five slide pours and for
general material handling.
Steelwork erection to the skeleton
frame was undertaken with telescopic
mobile cranes, and for the steelwork
connections, long-armed hydraulic lift-
ers (cherry pickers) were used.
