The ingredient statement provides the amount of each active ingredient as
a percentage of the product's total weight. The amount may also be given in
another manner (e.g., pounds per gallon) just below the ingredient statement.
Sometimes it is not the listed active ingredient, but rather one of its
breakdown products, that kills pests. In such cases, the "equivalent" amount
of the toxic chemical is usually listed as well, again just below the ingredient
statement.

The bottom of the front panel of the pesticide label tells you how much
product is in the container. This is expressed as ounces, pounds, grams, or
kilograms for dry formulation, and as gallons, quarts, pints, milliliters, or
liters for liquids. Also listed is the amount of active ingredient per unit of
product. This information is usually found in or near the ingredient
statement.
