glove sizing, comfort, durability, and cost must also be considered as discussed
elsewhere in this text. And finally, the proper use of chemical protective
gloves is as important as their proper selection for limiting worker exposures
to agricultural pesticide formulations. Figure 6.8 shows a worker selecting
nitrile gloves for a handling job involving contact with a pesticide formulation
containing a petroleum distillate.

BODY PROTECTION
1.
Introduction
Body protection includes shirts, pants, coveralls, aprons, hats, and the
like. As mentioned earlier, these items are fabricated from three general
groups of materials:
Woven cotton and cotton/polyester fabrics
Nonwoven fabrics, predominantly polyolefins (see Figure 6.9 ) , but
including microporous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Woven or nonwoven fabrics to which a continuous film of plastic or
rubber has been laminated or coated
