The first reported polystyrene-supported
organogermanium hydrides are obtained by func-
tionalisation of a polystyrene or by polymerisation
of a functionalised styrene; the ease of reduction of
organic halides follows the order: C-I > C-Br > C-Cl
[172] (Fig. 8.59).
