Bodmin & East Cornwall
Cornwall's Rooftop
A pocket of proper wilderness between Cornwall's north and south coasts, Bodmin Moor
has a stark beauty all its own. Hikers head for the high points of Brown Willy and Rough
Tor.
Moorland Wildlife
The moor is a haven for rare wildlife, from adders and lizards to stonechats and skylarks.
It's also supposedly stalked by the Beast of Bodmin Moor, a large catlike creature that's al-
legedly been spotted many times.
Stone Circles
During neolithic times, the moor was woodland, and many prehistoric people made their
home here. Their legacy remains in the shape of several stone circles.
