In-Depth Information
( 01720-422620; www.coveancottage.com ; d £78-88) A little stone-walled cottage, with three pretty
sea-view rooms. There's also a small cafe which serves brekkies and light meals cooked
up by the owner.

Turk's Head
( 01720-422434; mains £8-14; 10am-11pm) Britain's most southerly alehouse is a beauty.
Model ships and seafaring photos line the walls, great pub food (swordfish, crab cakes,
veggie chillis) is served up in the panelled bar, and you can carry your pint of
homebrewed Turk's Head down to the slipway as the sun goes down. You might even be
treated to a sea shanty if the lads are in the mood.
High Tide
( 01720-423869; mains £14-18; dinner 6-10pm Mon-Sat) Quite possibly the remotest fish restaur-
ant in Britain, run by a Kiwi chef and his artist wife. The menu's tiny as it's dictated by
what turns up on the day, but it's a surprisingly sophisticated affair - think sea bass with
samphire, or red mullet on bok choy.
