Newquay is a haven for outdoor activities, from abseiling, kitesurfing and sea kayaking to
the latest craze of coasteering, which combines clambering along the cliffs in a full-bodied
wetsuit prior to taking a plunge into the briny blue. Obviously, it's also famous for its
beaches, several of which are just a short walk from the town centre. Further afield, fam-
ily travellers will find lots of activities to entertain younger minds.
Beaches
There's no doubt about it - Newquay's all about the beaches.
The three big draws are the ones closest to town: Great Western , Tolcarne and Towan , all of
which get very busy in summer. Things are usually quieter out east at nearby Lusty Glaze
and Porth , about a mile or so from the town centre. A little further on is the epic sweep of
