Superior seafood is the
raison d'être
of this popular restaurant, from
freshly-shucked Falmouth Bay oysters to huge seafood platters loaded with crab claws,
mussels, langoustines and lobster (£28 for one person, £52 for two people). Often touted
as Truro's top restaurant, and we'd hate to disagree.

For ages this pint-sized restaurant was the only decent place to eat in
town, and it's still a favourite - especially since the recent decor overhaul. The seasonal
menu spices up Cornish with Spanish, Italian and French flavours: mutton with turnip
dauphinoise, or seared pollock with saffron mash.

This metro-modern diner is a good bet for fish, although the food is solid
rather than spectacular: classic surf-and-turf, or Goan seafood curry. Industrial piping and
leather seats give it a modern vibe, but the back-street location is slightly odd.
