walls, distressed furniture and retro pieces - a vintage-style radio here, an old angle-poise
lamp there. We particularly liked Room 7 (the attic suite) and Room 4 for its town view.
Falmouth Townhouse

; Grove Pl; d £85-120)
The choice for the design-con-
scious, in an elegant mansion overlooking the quay. Despite the heritage building, the feel
is modernist: slate greys and funky scatter cushions throughout, plus walk-in showers and
king-size TVs in rooms. Noise spillage from the downstairs bar may be an issue.

Ships in bottles and
model boats cruise around the lobby of Falmouth's original upmarket hotel. Most rooms
are classically styled, but only the more expensive have water views: ask for 'Deluxe' and
'Executive' for the most space.
St Michael's Hotel

The pick of Falmouth's
seafront hotels, with checks, stripes and slatted wood for that maritime feel. It's not worth
skimping here: go for the biggest room you can afford.
