Turret-topped, dotted with balconies and lined with Gothic gables - the Duke of Cornwall
is certainly arresting. The rooms are massive, if a touch old-fashioned. The four-poster
suite comes with complimentary champagne, but for a unique sleep, plump for the panor-
amic tower room. With its wrap-around views of the city and the shore, it even has a tele-
scope to help you take it all in.

favourite. Tucked away beside Tinside Pool, it boasts panoramic views across Plymouth Sound and a chilled
soundtrack. To the west, the tables and chairs of the Coffee Shack

7am-5pm) are scattered
alongside the waterside promenade; classical music floats from the speakers.

ships, submarines, gig boats and fishing trawlers. On a fine day it helps explain why Plymothians, although the
first to admit their city is far from perfect, do tend to think of it with a sneaking sense of pride.
