along the bank of tranquil Bow Creek, the Maltsters is hard to resist. Subtle oatmeal and
bursts of burgundy define the bedrooms; opt for a nicer by far river-view one and get a
sofa bed, beams and, in some, struts made from an ancient ship's mast. The delightfully
snug restaurant (noon to 2.30pm and 6.30pm to 9pm) specialises in local fish and meats,
while the waterside beer terrace is a perfect spot for a pint. It's 4 miles south of Totnes.
