There's been an eatery here for more than 30 years, time enough to perfect a style of
English-meets-European cuisine. Dishes focus on local fish, meat and game; prepare to
enjoy the rich Brixham crab bisque with scallops, sea bass with smoked pancetta or the
south Devon steak with a punchy blue-cheese sauce. Then try to resist the dessert trio:
clever twists on sticky toffee pudding, rhubarb and custard, and iced dark chocolate par-
fait.

by an engaging Austrian called Werner, but plenty of local produce finds its way onto the
tables at this acclaimed, intimate eatery. The result is an unusual menu where smoked
mackerel, ruby red Devon beef, and pheasant sits alongside sauerkraut, goulash soup and
Linzer torte.

flavour fusions: halibut with smoked eel and lovage; Brixham crab with mango and
sweet-pea panna cotta; chilled bitter chocolate fondant with salted-butter caramel ice
cream. The sumptuous cheeseboard is weighted with the very best West Country offer-
ings, while the window frames bright marina views.
