In-Depth Information
EAST DEVON
East of Exeter, Devon's red-soil fields and red-rock cliffs undulate towards Dorset. A few
miles south of the city lies Topsham, a charming, ancient port overflowing with fine places
to eat and stay. Next comes the faded resort of Exmouth, launch pad for Jurassic Coast
cruises and adrenalin sports. Regency Sidmouth delivers old-world seaside charm, stargaz-
ing and an irresistible equine sanctuary. Captivating Beer offers the chance to land your
own lunch and an ancient network of caves. Meanwhile, the River Cottage eateries of TV
chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall lie inland, rustling up truly memorable meals.
