Getting Around
CAR
Exeter is at the southern end of the M5 motorway; junctions 29 and 30 provide useful, if
congested, routes into the city. Most major car-hire firms have branches in the city or at
the airport. The very centre of Exeter is off-limits to cars, but not buses.
PARKING
The Cathedral and Quay car park often has places when others are full. Park-and-ride
buses run from Sowton (near M5, junction 30), Matford (near M5 junction 31) and
Honiton Rd (near M5, junction 29) every 10 minutes, Monday to Saturday from around
7am to 6pm. The parking itself is free; you just pay the bus fare (adult/child return £2.25/
1.50).
TAXI
Ranks are at St David's train station and on the main street. Other options include Capital
Taxis (
24hr) , Club Cars (
24hr) and Gemini (
01392-434343;
01392-213030;
