As you've just learned, a calculated field can be quite an asset because you can use it to
enhance the information a view provides. You also learned earlier in this chapter that cal-
culated fields are particularly crucial in aggregate views. A good rule of thumb to follow
when you think you may need calculated fields is to use them if they will provide pertinent
and meaningful information or if they will enhance the manner in which the view uses its
data.
