11.7 Conclusion
In this chapter, a particular application of wireless sensor networks was investi-
gated: structural health monitoring (SHM). Based on the existing WSN-based
SHM systems, the main challenges associated with WSN-based SHM were iden-
tified and the corresponding techniques summarized. More depth investigation on
these challenges should be carried out in the future.
