Alvear Palace Hotel
In the center of the upscale R ecoleta district, the Alvear
Palace is the most ex clusive hotel in B uenos Aires and one of the top hotels in the world.
A gilded classical confection full of marble and br onze, the Alvear combines Empire- and
Louis XV-style furnitur e with ex quisite French decorative arts. After a long pr ocess, the
historically important facade was restored in 2004 to its original glory. The illustrious guest
list has included Antonio B anderas, Donatella Versace, the emperor of Japan, and Robert
Duvall, to name a fe w. Recently renovated and expanded guest r ooms combine modern
conveniences with luxurious comforts, such as chandeliers, Egyptian cotton linens, and silk
