If you are looking for peace and quiet, very personalized
service, and comfortable rooms with a gr eat view, this charming (albeit tiny) ne w B&B
may be just right. Dark woods and natural colors fill up the two-story main room, where
FitzRoy is on display. Rooms are simple, with more natural coloring, and are perhaps too
simple for the price; the upstairs ones have superb views. With only four rooms, the staff
really goes abo ve and bey ond to make y ou feel at home in this unique setting; they 'll
happily meet just about any r equest, from a sewing kit to a café latte.

Los Cerros Del Chaltén
Owners of the famous Los Notros Hotel have done their
best to spiff things up in E l Chaltén. The Los Cerr os inn sits abo ve ev erybody else
physically, and is b y far the most luxurious place in to wn. The common spaces hav e a
new-cottage feel, with comfy sofas and tall ceilings. The rooms, on either side of gr een
hallways, are large and open to fabulous views stretching above the village and across the
valley. Bathrooms come in a variety of setups, all with modern fixtures and a jetted soaker
tub. Top-floor premium rooms have sloped ceilings and an alpine chalet feel. There are
no TVs or phones in the r ooms; but there is a common living r oom with picture books
and a large TV where you can watch mo vies. I found the ser vice a bit too formal for a
laid-back mountain village such as E l Chaltén. B reakfasts are excellent, particularly the
scrumptious baked goods. However, the all-inclusive nature of most packages keeps y ou
from discovering the surprisingly fun and funky r estaurants of E l Chaltén. The down-
stairs spa is minimal but r elaxing enough. Los Cerr os will appeal to those looking for a
Patagonian version of white-glove formality.

A lo vely little mountain lodge, this ne w inn has
superb service, cozy rooms (the nicest ones have wooden ceilings), and great service. Built
with traditional P atagonian ar chitecture (tin and wood), r ooms are bright and sunny .
There's a gentle luxur y that is just upscale enough for this informal to wn. Top-floor
rooms are the quietest. The location, on the edge of to wn facing the ne w bus terminal,
isn't the best, and landscaping is a pr oblem. But inside, there is a lot of hear t, warmth,
and good vibes. Their restaurant is superb.
