ARGENTINE This place is a gr eat choice for lunch on a warm day ,
with a v ery pleasant patio outside a building with a historical feel. F resh seafood is the
focus, but they also have homemade pastas, salads, and some grilled meats. Note that the
restaurant is closed the last w eek in December.

TRELEW
67km (42 miles) S of Puerto Madryn
Trelew's airport is the gate way to the r egion; many trav elers pass thr ough here on their
way to and fr om the P enínsula Valdés. The largest city in the r egion (pop. 100,000),
Trelew is industrial and cer tainly not as charming at its neighbor P uerto Madryn. The
town has a pleasant squar e and an ex cellent paleontological museum, but little else of
interest. The nearby Welsh town, Gaiman, is worth an afternoon visit.

have lots of maps and information about the Península Valdés and the region. The office
