Monica Due Finds ITALIAN Get to this shady stone house off the main drag before
the lovely Italian couple decide to mo ve to another countr y and open M onica Tre (the
first Monica was in Costa Rica!). All pastas are made fresh daily. Try the tortelloni stuffed
with ricotta, spinach, and P armesan, or tonnar elli with a matriciana sauce (bacon,
onions, hot chilies, and tomatoes). For dessert, tiramisu or semifreddo, of course!

La Nonna Pizzería PIZZA La Nonna's pizza, calzones, and empanadas ar e so good
they're sold packaged and r eady-to-bake at the supermarket. Toppings generally run the
repetitive gamut of ham and onion, ham and pineapple, ham and hear ts of palm. B ut
there are a few deviations, such as anchovy, Roquefort, and Parmesan, or mozzarella with
chopped egg. La N onna also offers specialty r egional pizzas with tr out, wild boar , and
deer. Calzone fillings include chicken, mozzarella, and bell pepper. For a quick snack, try
one of eight types of empanadas or a piece of faina, a traditional and delicious garbanzo
bread. La Nonna also delivers.

With its nice outdoor patio and cool wood and stone interior , the Dublin South Pub,
on the corner of M. M oreno and S an Martín ( & 02972/424938 ), has a huge list of
microbrewed beers and cocktails.
6 JUNIN DE LOS ANDES
40km (25 miles) N of San Martín de los Andes
The main draw in the tiny town of Junín de los Andes is fly-fishing.The sport has caught
on so well here that even the street signs are shaped like fish. But it also provides stunning
scenery for other outdoor spor ts such as hiking and boating, and some lo vely nearb y
ranches may appeal to those sear ching for a r ural getaway. Junín is spread out in a grid
pattern, a fer tile little oasis along the shor e of the Río Chimehuín, surr ounded by dry
pampa. You'll pass through Junín if you're crossing into Argentina fr om the Pucón area
in Chile.
