and long weekends. On the Argentine side, the Sheraton Internacional Iguazú is the only
hotel inside the national park. Discounts are common in the off season.

Hotel Cataratas Kids None of the stuffiness y ou sometimes feel at luxur y hotels
is evident her e. D espite the hotel 's unimpr essive exterior, r ooms ar e among the most
modern and spacious in the ar ea—especially the 30 “ master r ooms” that featur e two
double beds, handsome wood furniture, colorful artwork, large bathrooms with separate
toilet r ooms, in-r oom safes, and vie ws of the pool or gar dens. These r ooms ar e only
slightly mor e than the standar d r ooms, called “ superior.” The hotel 's many facilities,
including an outdoor pool, spa, tennis and v olleyball courts, putting gr een, playroom,
and gymnasium, make this a gr eat choice for families. The Cataratas restaurant offers a
fine selection of r egional and international dishes, and y ou can dine inside or out. The
hotel lies 4km (2 1 / 2 miles) from the center of P uerto Iguazú and 17km (11 miles) fr om
the national park entrance. Bus service is available.

Iguazú Grand Hotel Resort & Casino Kids Some of my pickiest friends hav e
stayed here and could not fault it. The large, red-brick, mansion-style hotel sits on a low
slope with lawns r unning down to an attractiv e pool ar ea. The lobby is stunning and
elegant, with white pillars and spar kling marble floors. What makes this fiv e-star hotel
stand out from the rest are its rooms, or should we say suites; they do not do rooms. Even
the junior suites hav e 40 sq. m (431 sq. ft.) wor th of impeccable decor , stylish period
furniture, and ample light. The immaculate bathrooms have two washbasins and a sepa-
rate section for toilet and bidet. A delicious fr uit drink awaits y ou upon arrival, as do a
fresh bathrobe and pair of slippers. All the bathtubs hav e a hy dro-massage. The hotel
grounds are delightful, and the thr ee pools ar e immaculate and w ell maintained. The
breakfast buffet is superb , with a large v ariety of international dishes. A car ser vice is
available to all guests, charging a very reasonable $5 (£3.40) flat rate to all the local attrac-
tions. It is located on the r oad to the falls.

Sheraton Internacional Iguazú Overrated How on ear th this type writer-shaped
bunker got to be built in a natur e r eserve is anybody 's guess. The S heraton enjo ys a
magnificent and exclusive location inside the national park (read: It's the only hotel inside
the park). Guests have little need to leav e the resort, and you have the added advantage
of being able to explore the park when the daily crowds have left. The hotel is only steps
from the Upper and Lower circuit trails, and half of the guest rooms have direct views of
the water (the others have splendid views of the jungle). The only drawback to the rooms
is that the decor is fairly standar d Sheraton-issue. Service can be patchy, with forgotten
wake up calls not unhear d of. Three restaurants vie for the world 's best restaurant view,
with the main one peering over Devil's Throat. It serves pricey international dishes.
