Theaters, Exhibitions & Other Venues
There is no shor tage of ex citing theater and ar t exhibitions in B uenos Aires. It's high
quality, v aried, and extr emely inexpensiv e considering what y ou get. Check out the
options below, or head to Corrientes, B uenos Aires's answer to B roadway, and look at
whatever is curr ently running in town. Besides the offerings at the B ritish Arts Centre,
virtually everything will be in Spanish. We list some ticket prices in this section, particu-
larly on the low end. However, for the larger theaters and for international stars, expect
to pay prices only about 20% to 30% less than in N orth America or E urope. M any
theaters close just befor e Christmas and early J anuary, following the summer cr owds to
Mar del Plata, so check to see if a show you want to see is actually running. As in North
America and E urope, M onday is usually the dar k night in larger theaters, ex cept on
national holidays, when there are usually slightly early evening performances.
