Moebius Skateboards Moebius Skateboards is a small, independent skateboard com-
pany located in Fort Worth, Texas. The owner, Corey Wells, is an entrepreneur and
lifelong skate afi cionado. In addition to designing skateboards that retail at local skate
shops, Moebius sponsors a skate team that participates actively in local events. Corey
organizes Feed the People, an annual skate event he founded in 2008 to raise money
and food donations for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Corey wants to develop a Web site
to better market Moebius. You will work with the Moebius team to create the new site.
Corey asks you to research skateboard Web sites and report back on your recommenda-
tions and fi ndings.
1. Start your Web browser.
2. Type the URL for the Web site of your favorite skateboard company in the Address
bar, and then press the Enter key. ( Hint : If you don't know the URL for the Web site,
try typing www. thenameofthecompany .com in the Address bar, using the actual
company name.) If you do not know a skateboard company, start a search engine
such as Google ( google.com ) or Yahoo! ( yahoo.com ) and search for skateboards or
Texas skateboard companies until you fi nd a site you like.
3. Review the home page of the Web site to see what information is included and how
the information is arranged. Make notes about your fi ndings, including the site's URL.
4. Use hyperlinks to explore the site. Look at how information is presented and whether
you can move easily between sections.
5. Click the company's logo, if there is one. Notice whether the logo is a hotspot, and,
if it is, where it takes you.
6. Repeat Steps 2 through 5 to explore the Web site for another skateboard company
and review the information the site contains.
7. Compare the two sites that you explored. Write down your responses to the follow-

a. What are the similarities and the differences between the sites?
b. Which features do you prefer? Why?
c. Can any of the features from these sites be incorporated into the new Moebius
site? If so, which features?
d. How would your suggestions help Moebius's marketing efforts?
