10. Check the layout of the design you prefer for logic, and verify that your design rein-
forces the site goals and supports the site metaphor.
11. Create a local site defi nition and a remote site defi nition.
12. Create the home page for the site using div tags and CSS styles to lay out the page.
13. Add a background and colors to the page, as appropriate, based on your site plan.
14. Add an appropriate list of keywords to the head content of the page.
15. Add an appropriate description of the site to the head content of the page.
16. Create at least three additional CSS styles to format the text in the site; refer to your
site plan for the appropriate colors, fonts, and so forth.
17. Insert navigation into the page and create appropriate elements.
18. Create at least two library items for elements that you intend to reuse or update
frequently, such as footers or an upcoming events list that will be displayed in more
than one page.
19. Duplicate the home page to create the other pages of the site.
20. Rename the Web page with a descriptive fi lename. ( Hint : Remember to use index.
html or index.htm as the fi lename for the home page.)
21. Set an appropriate page title for the Web page you created.
22. Open the Web page, type an appropriate page heading and text content, and then
apply appropriate CSS styles, if necessary, to format the content.
23. Add at least one image to the Web page and create Smart Objects if you have
Adobe Photoshop CS5. ( Hint : If you don't have an image fi le to insert, you can use
any of the image fi les included with your Data Files.)
24. Save the page, and then preview the page in a browser.
25. Repeat Steps 19 through 24 to create at least three fi rst-level pages for the site
based on your site plan.
26. Create an image map in at least one Web page.
27. Copy the steam_formTest.html fi le located in the AddCases folder included with
your Data Files to the site's local root folder. This will enable you to test the form.
28. Open the steam_formTest.html fi le in Design, add the Mark of the Web to the page,
and then save the page.
29. Add a rollover button to at least one Web page.
30. Create a form in one Web page to collect appropriate data from visitors. Use a
table to organize the form objects. Add at least four different types of Spry valida-
tion widget form objects to the form. Using the Spry form objects will enable you
to validate form content before submitting the form.
31. Preview the form in a browser, and then test the form.
32. Insert a Flash movie, Flash text, a Shockwave movie, a Flash video, or a sound into
at least one page. ( Hint : If you don't have one of these types of fi les to insert, you
can use any of the fi les included with your Data Files as placeholders.)
33. Preview the site in a browser.
34. Upload the site to a remote server and preview the site over the Web, testing each
page of the site.
35. Submit the fi nished fi les to your instructor.
