In-Depth Information
movie must be rendered and changed on the client computer, and it can cause the
movie to look distorted, especially if the movie contains a lot of text.
File. The path to the Flash movie fi le (.swf).
Src. The path to the Flash source fi le (.fl a) for the .swf movie fi le; available only if Flash
is installed on your local computer.
Edit. The button that launches Flash and opens the .fl a fi le specifi ed in the Src box so
you can edit the Flash movie. When you save the .fl a fi le, Flash re-exports the .swf
movie fi le with the changes. If Flash is not installed on your local computer, the Edit
button is disabled.
Reset size. The button that returns the Flash movie to its original size if you have
altered it; appears only if you have resized the movie.
Class. A list of CSS styles that you can apply to the object.
Loop. The option that, when checked, plays the movie continuously as long as the
page is loaded in the browser or, when unchecked, adds code that plays the movie
only once.
Autoplay. The option that, when checked, plays the movie automatically when the
page is loaded in a browser.
V space and H space. The number of pixels of white space inserted above and below
the movie or to the left and right of the movie. If blank, no code is specifi ed and the
browser adds 0 pixels of white space around the movie.
Quality. The amount of antialiasing that occurs when the movie is played. Movies with
High antialiasing look best, but require more processing power to render correctly
on the screen. Low emphasizes speed over appearance. Auto Low emphasizes speed,
but also improves appearance when the speed is acceptable. Auto High emphasizes
both appearance and speed, but will sacrifi ce appearance for speed, if necessary. High
emphasizes appearance over speed.
Scale. How the Flash movie displays in the specifi ed W and H dimensions. Default
(Show all) displays the movie at the greatest size possible within the designated space
while maintaining aspect ratio and showing all the content; the background color
might appear on two sides of the movie. No border fi ts the movie into the designated
space so that no border shows and the movie maintains the original aspect ratio (a por-
tion of the movie might not be seen). Exact fi t scales the movie to the exact W and H
dimensions, regardless of the aspect ratio of the movie. The entire movie is seen, but it
might be distorted to fi t in the space.
Align. The alignment of the movie in the page. The alignment options are the same
as for an image: Default, Baseline, Top, Middle, Bottom, TextTop, Absolute Middle,
Absolute Bottom, Left, and Right.
Bg. The color specifi ed for the background of the movie area. This color also appears
in the page if the movie is not playing, such as while the page is loading.
Play. The button that starts the movie in Dreamweaver. The movie plays in the
Document window and the Stop button, which ends the movie, replaces the Play
button.
Parameters. The button that opens a dialog box for entering parameters that are passed
to a movie if the movie was designed to receive them. Parameters entered in the
Parameters dialog box are placed in the appropriate places in the page code.
