Using a Table to Create Page Structure
Designers most often use CSS to provide structure for the layout of Web pages. However,
this was not always the case. Remember that there was a time, before CSS was fully sup-
ported, when designers primarily used HTML to create style and structure for pages. You
still need to understand and know how to use tables for layout because many existing
Web sites are structured with tables and you will likely encounter them at some point.
