Content
The main purpose of most Web sites is to provide information, which is conveyed
through the site's content. Content is the information presented in a Web page. A Web
page usually contains a combination of text, graphics, and possibly multimedia elements
such as video, animation, or interactive content. The blend of these elements is deter-
mined by what most effectively conveys the intended message or information. Ignoring
the content of a Web site and focusing purely on visual design is a common mistake
made by inexperienced designers.
Gage created a simple design and placeholder content for the temporary NextBest
Fest site. The redesigned Web site will have more interesting design elements and addi-
tional content. As you review the temporary site, think about what should be added or
changed when the Web site is redesigned.
To review the design and content of the NextBest Fest site:
1. Read the content on the home page of the NextBest Fest site, considering what
information might be appropriate to add and what design changes you would like
to see.
