15. Create the home page for the site; use index.html as the fi lename and enter Cowboy
Charlie - Home as the page title. ( Hint : Click HTML in the Create New category on
the Welcome screen.)
16. Click the Page Properties button in the Property inspector. Set the page font to Times
New Roman, Times, serif; set the size to medium because the Cowboy Art Society
requested that the site conform to current accessibility standards; set the text color
to #666666; and then set the background color to #7c6c53. Set the links, visited
links, rollover links, and active links colors to #666666, and then set underline style
to hide underline on rollover. Set heading 1 to size xx-large and color #993300. Set
heading 2 to size large and color #6a7029. Save the page.
17. Preview the page in your browser. The page should have a background color, and
the page title you assigned to it should appear in the browser title bar and in the
page tab.
18. Upload the site to your remote server. Remember to select all the fi les and the folder
for upload.
19. View the pages on the Web. Again, the page should have a background color and
the page title you assigned to it should appear in the browser title bar and in the
page tab.
20. Submit your fi nished fi les to your instructor.

Success with Tess The Web design team is in the initial planning phase of designing
the Success with Tess Web site. Using your research on life coaching, you will develop a
plan for the new site. You will then create the new site, add the home page, and set the
page properties.
1. Defi ne a list of goals for the site.
2. Defi ne a target audience and a user profi le for the site.
3. Conduct market research as needed by visiting competitors' sites.
4. Compose two end-user scenarios for the site.
5. Develop an information category outline for the site.
6. Create a fl owchart for the site.
7. Develop a site concept and metaphor for the site. Write a paragraph explaining your
choices.
8. Design a color palette, choose the fonts, and select a graphic style for the site. Write
a paragraph explaining your choices.
9. Create a rough sketch of the layout of the site. Write a paragraph explaining your
choice.
10. Check the layout of the design for logic by reviewing the decisions that you have
made. Make sure that your design reinforces the site goals and supports the site
metaphor.
11. Set up the site, using Success with Tess as the site name and success_with_tess\
web in the folder and location where you are storing your Web sites as the local root
folder. Create a folder named graphics in the local root folder, and select that folder
as the default images folder. Use case-sensitive link checking and enable cache.
12. Set up a Live Server using FTP access for the Success with Tess site.
13. Create a new HTML page for the home page using index.html as the fi lename. Use
Success with Tess - Home as the page title.
