In-Depth Information
Nikšić by far. Ask for a rear room; they're quieter and have mountain views. Breakfast is
served on the terrace of the 1st-floor restaurant.
Ibon
(Trg Šaka Petrovića; mains €2-6.50; 7.30am-11pm) Facing the park near the museum, this flash
cafe's terrace is a lovely spot for a morning coffee (a mere snip at 80c) and an omelette or
pancake. The pizza's excellent too.
PIZZERIA, CAFE
Fontana
(Njegoševa bb; snacks €1-3) A popular spot on the main drag for enjoying coffee, cakes and de-
licious ice cream. The blue-grey and chrome interior makes you feel a little like you're
sitting in a classic Cadillac.
ICE CREAM
Konoba Portun
( 040-212 336; Njegoševa bb; mains €6-12; 8am-11pm) The city centre's only proper restaurant
is accessed by an unlikely corridor leading from the main street. The usual national speci-
alities come in massive serves, accompanied by fries and vegetables.
MONTENEGRIN €€
Drinking
The main strip goes crazy on a Saturday night. There seems to be a higher concentration
of bars and cafes on Njegoševa than anywhere else in the country and on the weekends
most seem to operate under the assumption that the loudest is the best.
De Bova
(Novice Cerovića bb) One of the few quiet establishments in town is this pub-like place where
you can have a beer while photos of Jimmy Page and The Beatles look on.
BAR
Information
You'll find banks with ATMs, the post office and pharmacies on the main street,
Njegoševa.
General Hospital (Opšta bolnica;
040-244 216; Radoja Dakića bb)
