In-Depth Information
Draga's
( 068-760 711; pedja.vuletic@t-com.me; r €25-30; ) Above a family home, these four rooms
are simply furnished but clean and very reasonably priced. Two share a bathroom but
compensate by having their own terrace offering the most sublime sunrise views over the
lake. It's the last inhabited house on the left after the memorial; in winter the backyard
disappears into the lake.
HOMESTAY
Villa Miela
( 020-3287 0015; www.undiscoveredmontenegro.com ; r €80; Apr-Nov) Sitting pretty on the slopes
near Virpazar, this lovingly renovated stone farmhouse has four rooms sharing a kitchen,
BBQ area, orchard and lake views. In July and August it's reserved for Undiscovered
Montenegro's seven-day activity holidaymakers (lucky devils), but shorter stays are ac-
cepted at other times.
GUESTHOUSE €€
Jovičević Apartments
( 069-281 416; sara.jovicevic@yahoo.com; apt €60; ) The Jovičević family rents a couple of at-
mospheric apartments right in the centre of town. The Cave Apartment (sleeping four) is
built into a natural rock wall and has its own ornamental well. A hammock is strung up
between the oaks outside, and bikes are available to rent (€10 per day). Better still is the
light-filled apartment in an old building right by the monument (sleeping three).
APARTMENTS €€
Hotel Vir
( 020-711 120; www.hotelprincess.me ; s/d €42/64; ) Don't be put off by the ghosts of
Yugoslavia past in the reception or the staff's complete lack of English. The rooms at this
former state hotel have had a spruce up and some have terraces facing over the lake.

Eating & Drinking
Konoba Badanj
(mains €6-12; 8am-midnight) A cool stone-walled interior with solid wooden beams, views
of the river and interesting art make this an atmospheric eating option. The fish soup
comes with big chunks of fish and delicious scone-like homemade bread.
