In-Depth Information
Voli
(Nika Anđusa bb; 6am-11pm) One street back from the esplanade, Voli is a decent-sized su-
permarket with an excellent deli and fresh-fruit section, and an ATM outside.
SUPERMARKET
Konoba Bonaca
( 069-084 735; mains €8-15) Set back slightly from the main beach drag, this traditional res-
taurant focuses mainly on seafood but the local cheeses and olives are also excellent.
Grab a table under the grapevines on the terrace and try the rolnice Bonaca - rolled and
skewered eggplant, tomato, zucchini, mozzarella and prosciutto.
MONTENEGRIN, SEAFOOD €€
Konoba Mediterraneo
(mains €8-16) There are no surprises on the menu (a line-up of the usual seafood and meat
suspects), but Mediterraneo has a lovely setting under a canopy of citrus trees directly
opposite the beach.

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
DANICA ĆERANIĆ
We asked the Deputy Director of Montenegro's National Tourism Organisation for her top tips.
Favourite Beach?
Ada Bojana - that, for me, is a paradise. I recommend spending one or two nights there, just to relax. Also, I
love some of the hidden beaches on the Luštica Peninsula.
Something a Bit Different
Try some of the routes with gastronomic offerings, like the wine routes around Skadar Lake, where you can stop
and interact with local producers. Or the places around Kolašin where you can see the traditional way of making
cheese. The Old Royal Montenegrin Trails brochure features traditional wine-, cheese- and honey-makers that
welcome visitors - although if you don't know the language it may be easier to take a tour.
Favourite Restaurants?
Ćatovića Mlini ( Click here ) in Kotor Bay - I love their fish specialties and the old atmosphere. It's really
unique. Also, for atmosphere, try Ćićkova Čarda ( Click here ) by the Bojana River.
Winter Pursuits
Žabljak is very good for skiing and snowboarding, but the infrastructure is better in Kolašin. From 2013,
snowkiting will be offered in Žabljak. They say the conditions are better than in Austria because of the wind and
the lack of electrical wires.
