Montenegro's longest-standing hostel is a small, tucked-away place with colourful bath-
rooms and a front garden popular for chilling and socialising in. It can get frantic in the
height of summer, but by September it's much more relaxed.
Hotel Oliva
( 033-459 429; olivai@t-com.me; Velji Vinogradi bb; s/d €30/58; )
Don't expect anything
flashy, just a warm welcome, clean and comfortable rooms with balconies, and a nice
garden studded with the olive trees that give this small hotel its name. The wireless inter-
net doesn't extend much past the restaurant.

Trading its previous
peach-coloured shell for a make-over in chocolate and cream, midsized Mena has reason-
able rates and nicely furnished rooms with balconies. The hot-water cylinders are tiny, so
be sure to beat your beau to the first shower.
Hotel Mogren
( 033-451 102;

; Mediteranska bb; s/d €64/83; )
A bit like an elderly aunt
you've become fond of, the Mogren has seen better days but traces of a glamorous youth
occasionally peek through. The rooms are an ode to all things blue: blue built-in ward-
robes, blue padded headboards and blue shower curtains. Ask for a room with a view of
the Old Town.

Bounce into a large
clean room with a desk and terrace at this minimal-frills midsized hotel that's a hop, step
and jump from the beach. The owners once lived in Australia, which explains the name
and the large 3D mural of Captain Cook's
Endeavour
in the popular restaurant below.
