Before the current global economic meltdown, Budva was actively cultivating a reputa-
tion for hosting big events. Even if the €5 million that was reportedly stumped up to en-
tice Madonna to play in 2008 is unlikely to be matched any time soon, it doesn't mean
that the city has abandoned its cultural life. A lively calendar of events fills the summer
