sources can be replaced by an ideal voltage source V T (the Thévenin voltage) in series with
an impedance Z T (the Th é venin impedance). V T is the open-circuit voltage of the two-port
and Z T is the ratio of the open-circuit voltage divided by the short-circuit current. This equiva-
lence, which is of considerable value in power system analysis, is illustrated in Figure A.27.
Proof of this theorem can be found in Reference [1] or any other text on electric network
theory.
