Virtual Reality
. A technology that allows a user to interact with a
computer-simulated environment both in the real and imaginary worlds.
They are often visual-based experiences linked to computer screens or
through other display types and are focused on stimulating the senses. Pilots
use this technology for flight simulations and it is becoming more accepted
in other sectors including luxury.

. A video-based web log.

WA P
(Wireless Application Protocol). This is an open network communica-
tions system used in a wireless environment to provide access to content and
services similar to that of a web browser. WAP is mainly used for accessing
mobile websites from a mobile phone or a PDA.
Web 2.0
. A term that is generally used to refer to the current phenomenon
of the social web, driven by social networks and collaborative platforms con-
trolled by user content. These platforms include blogs, online communities,
discussion platform and all associated elements found in mainstream web-
sites.

Webmosphere
. The atmosphere or ambience on a website. It is created
using specific web elements that are linked to the five human senses and its
goal is to appeal to the mind rather than the eyes.

Web Page
. A document on the World Wide Web, consisting of an HTML
file and any related files for scripts and graphics, and often hyperlinked to
other documents on the Web.
Website
. A set of interconnected webpages, usually including a homepage and
a welcome page located on the same server. They are often created and main-
tained as a collection of information and content by a person, group or company.
Window
. A term used to refer to a website or a web page.
World Wide Web
. This is the network of all the websites and contents of
the digital world and their interconnection to one another.
XML
(Extensible Mark-Up Language). This is a programming language
used for encoding documents electronically and integrated in the creation of
websites.

YouTube
A video-sharing website on which users can upload and share
videos. Most of its content has been uploaded by individuals and it has
become a major online destination for video-sharing.
