is not far off the radar either. Online social websites like Cyworld, which has
drawn 90 percent of the country's population in their twenties and 25 percent
of the entire population, is a popular destination for the digital generation
of Koreans. The level of activity and information exchanged on social web-
sites is also mind-boggling. MySpace has more than 20 billion mails and
14 billion comments on its website and 1.5 billion images, with approxi-
mately 800 million being uploaded daily. Facebook has more than 65 billion
page views per month and more than 14 million photos uploaded daily, while
the number of active users doubles every six months.
Social networks have thrived on numbers and quantity because of their
ease of accessibility and their ability to draw millions in a short time space.
Also, the companies behind the websites draw their income from the value
added by the monumental figures that represent the users of the websites. In
other words, the more people that are attracted to the forums, the better for the
