4. CONCLUSIONS
Polyimides functionalized with rhenium diimine complexes were synthesized and
their photosensitizing properties were studied. It was found that the rhenium
complex could act as an efficient photosensitizer. As a result, large photocurrent
response was observed when the polymer film was irradiated with light. The field
dependent quantum yield of photosensitization was simulated by the Onsager's
theory and the primary quantum yield and thermalization distance were quite
similar at 488 and 514 nm.
