The Application Tier Installation
The current version of the Rapid Install Wizard (12.2.0.46) has a bug in the prerequisites checks on Oracle Linux
6. The bug does not allow the installer to start. The following file in the staging area needs to be changed to avoid
the bug: startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz/jlib/webtier/Scripts/prereq/linux64/refhost.xml . The value " <VERSION
VALUE="6"/> " needs to be replaced with " <VERSION VALUE="oracle"/> ".
The installation process of the e-Business Suite application tier on ODA-based virtual machines is exactly the
same as on any other type of server. The configuration settings for the Rapid Install have been saved in the database
during the installation of the database tier. You need to start the Rapid Install on the application's VM after completing
the installation of the database. The configuration parameters don't need to be entered manually anymore; all you
have to do is point the wizard to the new database where the parameters have been saved, as shown in Figure 11-4 .
The wizard will load and validate all the settings before starting the installation process.
