Deployment of the Virtualized ODA
Deployment of the virtual ODA requires the act of reinstallation of the appliance and then deploying the virtualized
image on the ODA. Chapter 2 goes through the procedure of how to install the bare-metal version of the ODA in
detail. In order for the ODA to become a virtual configuration, the appropriate patch needs to be downloaded from
Oracle Support. Currently, Patch ID 16984856 can be downloaded to deploy a virtualized image.
The offline configurator has been enhanced to support building the configuration required for deployment of the
virtualized ODA. Figure
10-2
is the initial entry to the configurator; due to the hardware configuration changes,
it allows for various configuration selections.
