Database Reference
In-Depth Information
On the next screen, we need to specify the two hosts that we want to add to the Oracle Enterprise Manager.
We also need to specify their operating system. The Oracle Database Appliance ships with Oracle Enterprise Linux
(64-bit); you need to make sure to select the correct operating system. Figure 6-3 shows the input screen that
should be displayed when adding a new host target(s).
Figure 6-3. Add Host Targets
if the Oracle Enterprise Manager is installed on a host that is not linux (64-bit) based, then you will need to
download the correct agent software from Oracle through Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Note
After filling in the host and platform information, you are taken to the Installation Details page shown in
Figure 6-4 . On this page, you add the specifics related to the hosts you are adding. You are adding an Oracle Database
Appliance; the Installation Base Directory on both hosts will be the same. All the other installation details should be
filled in; if not, provide the necessary information. The option for Named Credentials needs to be populated with
either an existing credential, or create a new one by clicking the plus (+) button. Once all the installation details are
provided, installation of the Oracle Management Agent can continue. Figure 6-4 illustrates how the installation details
should look when filled out.
