Two runs were now made to simulate the experiments of White
et al. (1990). Two cell sizes were chosen, 20 μ mand50 μ m, while
exposurewaskeptat20Vm 1 .Thediffusionconstantwasasusedin
thepreviousrun,beingsetat4.1 × 10 12 m 1 s 1 . The results show
that for the larger cell, equilibrium is reached after about 3 hours,
while the smaller cell has not quite reached dynamic equilibrium
after 11 hours (Fig. 5.13).
