Dakar's Institut Français Léopold Sédar Senghor OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP ( 33 823 0320;
www.ifdakar.org ; 89 Rue Joseph Gomis) , a spacious arts centre occupying a whole city block, is one of the main
hubs of cultural activity in Dakar. It features an open-air stage (a fantastic place to catch a live-music gig), a good
cafe, and exhibition and cinema rooms, and also houses a couple of artists' workshops and shops in its vast
garden.

dance floor start late - most places don't start to boogie before 1am. And always, always
overdress. Bars are usually free, but cover charges at clubs and live-music venues are
roughly CFA4000 to CFA12,000.
